With its CONSIGNaction at work program, BGE is striving to implement recovery infrastructures for refundable containers outside the home.
BGE decided to address the problem of container recovery in the workplace because studies and characterizations have estimated annual losses of refundable containers at approximately 58 million for industrial buildings and approximately 19 million for office buildings.
This offensive, which began on January 14, 2008, is supported by a radio message.
Through this initiative, BGE is offering participating companies the materials necessary for the recovery of refundable containers free of charge. Company operators can then return the recovered containers to any retailer who sells refundable containers (grocery and convenience stores, department stores that sell products in refundable containers, etc.).
For companies located in the greater Montréal and greater Québec City areas
For companies located in the greater Montréal and greater Québec City areas, it is possible to put the recovery infrastructure in place and have the bags of containers collected on-site instead of returning them, while doing a good deed in the process! On request, a recovery team will come to collect the bags. The refund money will be used to finance the collection, and any surplus will be used to support organizations such as Opération Enfant Soleil.
