Job description

Under the supervision of the program coordinator for on-site consumption establishments and public places, the incumbent ensures that collection activities run smoothly in these environments. He/she acts as a resource person for the collectors, facilitates coordination with logistics stakeholders and contributes to the efficiency of field operations. Working closely with return sites, technological monitoring tools and collection partners, he or she plays a key role in maintaining a reliable, fluid and well-organized collection circuit.

Responsibilities and tasks

  • Follow up on collection activities carried out by reclaimers at ÉCSPs and public places;
  • Manage and update the "Recyclers" section of the collection application;
  • Provide support, training and tools to collectors to ensure compliant and efficient collection;
  • Respond to out-of-area collection requests or exceptional situations, in coordination with the other parties involved;
  • Maintain regular communication with return sites to ensure proper reception and processing of bags from ÉCSPs and public places;
  • Contribute to logistics planning, route optimization and continuous improvement of collection practices;
  • Support problem solving in the field and propose adjustments as needed;
  • Document issues encountered, performance data and best practices observed;
  • Participate in the development or adjustment of digital collection tools;
  • And all other related tasks.

 

Training

  • College diploma in logistics, operations management, administration or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.

Experience and skills 

  • Relevant experience in logistics management, operations coordination or dispatching ;
  • Experience in project management or logistics processes, ideally in a recovery or waste management environment (an asset);
  • Experience in the use of technological tracking tools or collection management applications;
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and adjust field operations as needed;
  • Organizational skills, autonomy, initiative and ability to manage several tasks and priorities simultaneously;
  • Experience in a regulated environment (an asset).

Technical knowledge 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.);
  • Fluency in spoken and written French, and good command of English;
  • Knowledge or understanding of the recovery program redeemable containers (training offered).

Interpersonal and professional skills 

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team;
  • Rigorous monitoring of activities and concern for the quality of services offered;
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and propose appropriate solutions.

 

Job type: Permanent full-time

Workplace: Hybrid mode, our offices are located in Saint-Laurent. The position requires frequent travel throughout Quebec.

 

Who are we ?

The Quebec Beverage Container Recycling Association (QBCRA) is the designated management organization (DMO) for the development, implementation, financing and management of the deposit-refund system, which has been modernized according to the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) principle. It brings together the various beverage producers involved in the recovery, reuse, recycling and reclamation of beverage containers in the province of Quebec.
