Job description

Under the supervision of the Director of Retail, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the permanent retailers targeted by the settlement in the transition to the new, modernized model of the deposit-refund system.

As the main link betweenQBCRA managementQBCRA the banners and retailers, the Project Coordinator is responsible for steering and coordinating the implementation of the project throughout the Quebec region. This initiative aims to improve the efficiency of the waste management system and promote sustainability at the local level.

Responsibilities and tasks

  • Detailed planning: Create a deployment schedule, assign responsibilities and define precise deadlines for each phase of the project;
  • Field coordination: organize tasks between local teams, partners and suppliers to ensure smooth and rapid implementation;
  • Manage relations with stakeholders (municipalities, retailers, suppliers, etc.);
  • Be the main point of contact for retailers, suppliers and other external stakeholders, and answer their questions on system deployment;
  • Carry out monthly checks on the project budget, identify discrepancies and propose adjustments in collaboration with the department responsible for them to avoid overruns;
  • Ensure that all necessary resources (material, equipment, human resources) are available and delivered on time to deployment sites;
  • Coordinate the management of human and material resources to ensure the smooth running of the project;
  • Set up performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of the system in place;
  • Prepare regular reports on project progress (on time, on budget, on target);
  • Carry out post-deployment assessments to evaluate the system's effectiveness and suggest improvements;
  • Organize data collection (retailer feedback, system performance, etc.) at sites where the system is deployed, to assess its effectiveness and identify any adjustments that need to be made;
  • Use monitoring tools (dashboards, progress reports) to measure results against objectives and propose solutions if results fall short of expectations;
  • Produce regular reports on progress made, difficulties encountered and corrective actions taken. These reports should be sent to management and key stakeholders to ensure transparency;
  • Set up a monitoring system to detect risks (deadline, budget, quality) before they become major problems;
  • Any other related tasks.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in project management or related field;
  • 3 years' experience in project management;
  • Present your findings using statistical data;
  • Expertise in managing external partners;
  • Proven experience in implementing solutions;
  • Ability to summarize and draft documents;
  • Speaks and writes in French and English;
  • Comfortable working with Excel;
  • Knowledge of Power BI (an asset)

 

Job type: Permanent full-time

Workplace : Hybrid mode, our offices are located in Saint-Laurent. The position requires frequent travel throughout Quebec.

Who are we ? 

The Quebec Beverage Container Recycling Association (QBCRA) is the designated management organization (DMO) for the development, implementation, financing and management of the deposit-refund system, which has been modernized according to the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) principle. It brings together the various beverage producers involved in the recovery, reuse, recycling and reclamation of beverage containers in the province of Quebec.
