Full job description

Reporting to the Network Director, the Building Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for prioritizing, planning, coordinating, implementing, supervising and evaluating activities and resources relating to the upkeep and maintenance of buildings, grounds, infrastructure and equipment.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Prepares and manages the asset maintenance management plan for all buildings, infrastructure and land;
  • Participate in the development of the health and safety program with the OHS advisor;
  • Supervises work and provides technical support to the building maintenance team;
  • Prepare work schedules in collaboration with managers;
  • Document methods, tools, equipment and parts for future reference;
  • Integrate sound customer service practices to improve overall service quality;
  • Applies laws and regulations governing the offering of service contracts, as well as internal policies, regulations and procedures;
  • Coordinates and controls building maintenance service contracts (i.e. housekeeping, HVAC, fire alarm system, sprinklers, etc.) and daily operations and ensures optimal results;
  • Manages documents and systems for preventive maintenance programs related to buildings, grounds and mechanical/electrical equipment;
  • Identifies different processes and methods, programs or products that enable effective maintenance or repair and follow-up;
  • Analyzes and evaluates repairs versus replacement of specialized equipment;
  • Negotiates contracts and inspects the status of maintenance and repair work carried out by external contractors;
  • Act as liaison between the department and suppliers of maintenance service contracts and for the evaluation of work orders prior to their execution;
  • Prepares and manages budgets within its areas of responsibility;
  • Evaluates, using internal and external resources, the feasibility and cost of various maintenance work required in connection with the annual operating budget or special investment process;
  • Research, analyze and recommend equipment specifications as needed;
  • Any other related tasks.

 

 

Requirements

  • College diploma in a relevant discipline;
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a building maintenance support position;
  • Solid command of the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel;
  • Strong sense of priorities and ability to solve problems quickly;
  • Ability to communicate effectively depending on the situation;
  • Knowledge of current health and safety practices;
  • Experience enabling organizations to adapt quickly to changing circumstances;
  • An innovative mindset, constantly on the lookout for new practices;
  • Driver's license valid at all times and available for travel anywhere in the country.

The Quebec Beverage Container Recycling Association (QBCRA) is the designated management organization (DMO) for the development, implementation, financing and management of the deposit-refund system, which has been modernized according to the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) principle. It brings together the various beverage producers involved in the recovery, reuse, recycling and reclamation of beverage containers in the province of Quebec.
