Job description
Reporting to the Vice President Finance, the Purchasing Manager plays an essential role within the company by guaranteeing the availability of raw materials, products and services essential to its smooth operation. They coordinate and oversee the entire procurement process, including purchasing, inventory management and logistics operations. His main objective is to ensure that procurement needs are optimally met, combining operational efficiency with cost control. By working closely with suppliers and various internal departments, he optimizes supply chains and controls costs, while maintaining the high quality of products and services acquired.

Responsibilities and tasks
- Manage all purchasing activities and coordinate links with other supply chain departments and operations;
- Define certain purchasing policies and frameworks and ensure their implementation, in close collaboration with other company departments;
- Direct and supervise all negotiations with suppliers;
- Develop and monitor sector performance indicators (customer service, supply costs, etc.);
- Ensure that good relations are maintained with suppliers and that agreements are respected
- Evaluate the performance of suppliers on a regular basis and make any necessary adjustments or changes;
- Ensure the effectiveness of existing work processes and tools, and improve them on an ongoing basis;
- Review the organization of work and the tasks attached to the various positions and departments, as well as their allocation among employees;
- Keep abreast of trends in procurement and logistics, as well as its reference market;
- Support the implementation of purchasing management tools;
- Implement cost-cutting strategies while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration (operations, logistics);
- 7 years of relevant experience;
- Knowledge of best procurement practices;
- Excellent computer skills (Office Suite);
- Ability and interest in teamwork and customer service;
- Strong negotiation and partnership development skills;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Bilingual (French, English);
- Ability to plan and organize;
- Demonstrated experience with an ERP system

Who are we ?
The Quebec Beverage Container Recycling Association (QBCRA) is the designated management organization (DMO) for the development, implementation, financing and management of the deposit-refund system, which has been modernized according to the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) principle. It brings together the various beverage producers involved in the recovery, reuse, recycling and reclamation of beverage containers in the province of Quebec.
