Full job description 

Under the supervision of the Director, IT Delivery, the Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for supporting internal customers in their use of IT tools on a daily basis, mainly in return sites across the province.

The candidate will be required to travel frequently to return sites to provide operations support.

Main tasks and responsibilities 

  • Provide first-level support to users, in person, by telephone or electronically, guaranteeing a first point of contact for their technical needs.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems;
  • Analyze user concerns, provide appropriate solutions and systematically record resolution steps in the service request management system;
  • Installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware, software and operating systems at return sites;
  • Ensure efficient management of equipment inventory;
  • Follow up on user requests and problems, record requests for assistance and ensure that they are resolved within the agreed deadlines;
  • Collaborate with external IT service providers to obtain support for software and licenses, while managing these relationships appropriately;
  • Keep IT infrastructure documentation and user procedures up to date;
  • Check request prioritization, establishing the order of importance of requests to be processed;
  • Track requests and incidents, ensuring proper traceability and follow-up of all requests;
  • Manage local and cloud-hosted files;
  • Actively contribute to various projects related to the implementation, migration and integration of new systems.
  • Keep abreast of technological developments and relevant advances in the IT field.

Training 

  • Training in computer support; DEP, AEC or other
  • A valid driver's license

 

Experience and knowledge 

  • 2 years' experience in the IT field.
  • Customer service experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools;

 

Main challenges and issues of the position 

  • Good listening and analytical skills, solution-oriented
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The Quebec Beverage Container Recycling Association (QBCRA) is the designated management organization (DMO) for the development, implementation, financing and management of the deposit-refund system, which has been modernized according to the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) principle. It brings together the various beverage producers involved in the recovery, reuse, recycling and reclamation of beverage containers in the province of Quebec.
