Social networking stars support deposit-refund
The issue of environmental protection is on everyone's lips, particularly among young people, who are mobilizing all over the West to promote green behavior. Four popular Quebec personalities have decided to support deposit-refund in their own way, notably by publishing "stories" on the Instagram network to encourage their fans to take their refundable/returnable containers back to the grocery store or to dépanneur.
Thousands of people can see comedian Marie-Lyne Joncas, former Occupation Double reality TV contestants Jessie Nadeau and PH Cantin, and colorful Beach Club entrepreneur Olivier Primeau take to the stage to promote the ecological virtues of deposit-refund.
"In the zero-waste movement, it seems to me that (returning containers to) deposit-refund is the basic principle," asserts Marie-Lyne Joncas. Olivier Primeau is even more categorical: "You can't throw away returnable containers". For their part, eco-friendly couple Jessie and PH invite their fans to make recycling part of their lifestyle.
