The deposit-refund goes to 10 cents

On November 1, 2023, the deposit-refund fee on most beverage containers was raised from 5 cents to 10 cents.

What's more, since that date, all ready-to-drink aluminum beverage containers from 100 ml to 2 l have been returnable, whether they be vegetable juices, sparkling water, soft drink, beer or other alcoholic beverages.

As a result, 300 million new beverage containers can now be recycled thanks to deposit-refund .

Currently, some 2.8 billion beverage containers can be found at deposit-refund. This number is expected to rise to 5 billion by 2026.
