New body to manage the deposit-refund

The Quebec Beverage Container Recycling Association (QBCRA)is the new management organization designated by RECYC-QUÉBEC to manage deposit-refund. The QRCBA will be responsible for the transition and implementation of the new, modernized deposit-refund system, scheduled to come into effect across Quebec on November 1, 2023.

Let us recall that the objective of modernizing the system of deposit-refund is to ensure the effective management of all ready-to-drink beverage containers from 100 milliliters to 2 liters. This reform aims to increase the recovery and recycling of beverage containers, improve environmental performance and contribute to climate action in Quebec.

The QRCBA brings together all producers and brand owners involved in the recovery, recycling, reuse and reclamation of beverage containers in the province of Quebec.
