A new network of return locations takes shape 

As part of the modernization of the deposit-refund system, Consignaction has begun setting up a new beverage container recovery network that will include at least 1,500 return locations across Quebec. By the end of 2026, this network will include up to 400 return locations identified under the Consignaction banner.

As of March^1, 2025, when Phase 2 is launched, new glass and plastic container formats will be recovered, as well as a new material: multi-layer cardboard. Consignaction return facilities will be able to handle the anticipated large volumes of beverage containers, as the number of units subject to deposit-refund increases from 2.5 billion to 5 billion.
